What is Codemaker and why do you need it? Codemaker is an optional software functionality for the Silca Futura and Futura Pro allowing the key cutter to create cards for keys not yet available in the Silca database. Once purchased Codemaker is accessible via the Futura and Futura Pro tablets and activated by updating the Futura software. It can then be used off-line without the need of an internet connection. What types of keys are supported? Just one Codemaker is needed for creating cutting cards for both flat and dimple keys. The creation of cutting cards for laser keys is not supported. Importing cards created with Codemaker on SKP Customers using Codemaker on SKP with other Silca electronic key cutting machines will be able to import the cards they have already created using a USB pen. The Futura and Futura Pro Codemaker software will automatically update the information regarding the hardware to use (clamp, jaws, cutters, etc.). *Importation of cutting cards created ‘en-bloc’ is not supported.
