How wood gasification technology works A smoke-free fire is the ultimate art and MOON makes it a reality. The double wall, consisting of an inner and an outer bowl, is the key. When the air stream enters, it splits into three parts. The first two heat the fuel in the heart of the fire basket via the ash tray. The third part of the air stream rises between the inner and outer bowl, is heated as it rises and exits through the perforated circle below the opening. This is where the second stage of combustion takes place, efficiently burning even the smallest particles of wood and producing a smokeless flame, especially when using pellets. Watch Our Video Do you fire with wood or pellets? MOON gives you the ultimate choice, allowing you to use either wood or pellets in the fire basket. If you choose wood, you can experience the familiar campfire feeling, refine your stacking technique and take responsibility for keeping the fire going. The advantage of using pellets is that you only need to fill MOON a single time. Once lit, the fire burns continuously for two hours, smoke-free and without refuelling, leaving you free to devote your full attention to your guests. Extra tip: With höfats bioethanol gel fuel you can easily light the pellets. Watch Our Video Step 1: Fill the MOON with pellets, leaving the perforated circle below the opening free (approx. 10-12 kg of pellets). Step 2: Place 2-3 pieces of kindling wool on top of the pellets. Step 3: Moisten the wool and the pellets with höfats bioethanol gel fuel.
